The short answer is : Unlikely If there is any doubt over your intentions of travels and booking, a particular hotel reservation which does not even have your name on it, is unlikely to do anything to mitigate that doubt. Having said that, are you sure that your friend cannot add an additional guest to the booking? Pretty much all hotel bookings I have ever done have had that option. Then your problem is solved.
