Does the port of entry and exit need to be the same for a Schengen?

No, it doesnt have to be same, you can enter or exit from the Schengen area via a country other than the one you have a visa for, your port of entry or exit doesnt depend on the issuing country of your visa or do not have to be same. Application of Schengen visa depends on following conditions: Number of nights you plan to stay in a country Your port of entry You need to apply for a Schengen visa for the country where you plan to spend maximum number of nights (you have to show it in your itinerary, which is a requirement for application). This could be different than your port of entry or exit country. If in case you plan to spend same number of nights in two or more countries, then in that case you need to apply for visa for the country of port of entry (eg. if you plan to enter from France, then apply in French embassy/consulate/application center). Have a safe trip! PS: Make sure you have multiple entry visa if you plan to re-enter into a country twice or more during your trip.
