On this episode of the show, we're going to talk about letters, creating wealth, protecting families, and building a legacy. This is the Rich Life Lawyer Show. Hey everybody, welcome to episode 71 of the Rich Life Lawyer Show. I am your host, Christopher small. I'm the owner of CMS Law Firm, and I am excited to be here talking to you about some probate stuff today. Letters, well, you know, always two people talking about getting letters, using letters. Letters here, letters there. And what letters are simply is the short version of letters of administration. It's the document that allows you, if you are the personal representative of an estate, to do all the things that you need to do. Open bank accounts, access the bank accounts of the deceased person, sell real estate, give, distribute assets to heirs and beneficiaries. You, the letters are what gives you the power to do that. The only way that you can get letters is to file a petition for probate and court file an oath as the personal representative. When you do those two things, the court will issue the letters, and you can get to work on your duties as a personal representative. So that's it, pretty short and sweet, but the letters when people talk about them, it's a really, really important document to use in probate. If you don't have letters, you can't really do much. So if you need letters, if you're in probate, or if you're the personal representative of someone and you are wondering what to do, please call us at 206-659-1512. You can email me, Kris, at CMS Law Firm, comm. I would love to help you, and I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks.
